# Kinker

> Kinker is a free, private web app for couples to discover and compare their intimate preferences — no account, no server, no data collection. Everything stays on your device; results are shared peer-to-peer via QR code.

Kinker was originally available on the App Store and Google Play Store. After Google removed the app without explanation, the developers made it free and open on the web at https://kinker.ovh as a PWA (Progressive Web App).

## How Kinker works

1. **Create your Duckink** – Pick an avatar ("duckink") and give yourself a name.
2. **Swipe your kinks** – Browse categories (Vanilla, Kinky, Kinkier, Hardcore) and swipe YES or NO on each item, just like a card deck.
3. **Generate a QR code** – Your answers are encoded into a QR code that only contains reaction data — no personal information.
4. **Scan your partner's QR code** – Each partner scans the other's code (camera or gallery).
5. **See your matches** – Only items where both partners said YES are revealed.

## Key properties

- **Privacy-first**: All data is stored in the browser's local storage. Nothing is sent to any server.
- **No account required**: No email, no password, no sign-up of any kind.
- **Offline-capable PWA**: Can be installed on any device as an app and used without an internet connection.
- **QR-code sharing**: The partner comparison is done by exchanging QR codes — not by a server matching two profiles.
- **Free forever**: The project is non-profit; donations are welcome but never required.
- **Made in France**: Built and maintained by independent developers.

## Categories

Kinker organises its content into four intensity levels:
- **Vanilla** – common, mainstream preferences
- **Kinky** – adventurous but widely known
- **Kinkier** – more niche interests
- **Hardcore** – explicit, niche content for adults
